Raj Shah, M.D.

 

Dr. Shah earned his B.S. in Nutrition from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill and went on to earn his M.D. from UNC Chapel Hill as well. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. He served as a Chief Fellow during his final year of training at Duke.  

 

In addition to his training as a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, Dr. Shah has received additional training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Parent Management Training, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Therapy. He also has a particular interest in psychopharmacology and enjoys working with patients with a variety of needs, including those with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and Mood Disorders in general.  

 

Dr. Shah is board-certified in General Psychiatry and board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, The North Carolina Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. 

 
Dr. Shah is a Charlotte native and a graduate of Myers Park High School. He joined Eastover
Psychiatric Group in 2021 and is excited to care for patients in his home city. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
