Hetal Patel, M.D.

 

Dr. Patel received dual degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in neuroscience (B.S.) and religious studies (B.A.). She then obtained her medical degree, and completed adult psychiatry residency and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, gaining invaluable experience in treating a breadth of psychiatric disorders.

 

Dr. Patel specializes in diagnosing and treating children and young adults with a variety of conditions including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, catatonia, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders. Dr. Patel has additional training in early childhood psychiatry and autism spectrum disorder diagnosis and often incorporates aspects of social emotional learning and cognitive behavioral therapy into her comprehensive practice.

 

Dr. Patel is board certified in adult psychiatry and board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a member of the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.

 

Dr. Patel is particularly passionate about supporting mental health care in South Asian and LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, learning Indian classical dance, spending quality time with her family and friends, and playing with her new puppy.
