New groups for adolescents and parents are starting this fall at Eastover Psychological & Psychiatric Group.
Laurie Nappier, L.C.S.W., M.S.W. will be leading two different groups for adolescent females. Both groups will promote self-confidence, communication skills and healthy strategies for coping with stress.
The first group is for girls aged 12-15 with a focus on anxiety, including social anxiety, perfectionism and panic attacks. This group will be meeting weekly on Mondays at 4:00 pm.
The second group is for girls aged 15-18 with a focus on depression, including anger managment and self-harm concerns. This group will be meeting weekly on Tuesdays at 5:00 pm.
These groups will begin meeting the week of August 24, 2015. Cost is $50 per session; insurance may cover. Participants are asked to commit to a minimum of four sessions at a time. You may contact Ms. Nappier at 704-362-2663 x125 for more information.
Tiffany Henry, M.A., L.P.C., N.C.C. will be leading a Parenting Group. You will join parents/caregivers of children of all ages to explore a variety of topics, including healthy communication, effective discipline, understanding psychiatric diagnoses, setting boundaries and healthy parental self-care, with a goal of gaining a better understanding of your children and gaining confidence as a parent.
The Parenting Group will meet every other Thursday evening from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm, beginning on September 10th. Cost is $50 per session; insurance may cover. Participants are asked to commit to 6 total sessions.
